Join us Saturday July 7th from 10 till 2 at the Spencer Creek growers market for a hands-on basket making demonstration. Learn how to make cordage and braids from natural materials and practice techniques including coiling, twining and weaving. Members of the Columbia basin basketry guild and market members will be there to help you and answer questions about this age old craft.

We’ll also have an experienced spinner demonstrating the art of spinning yarn.  Join in the market community and enjoy music, farm fresh food and learn a new skill.

Live Music this Saturday will be provided by Sean Gill beginning at 11:30.  If you’ve yet to hear a performance, you’ll be floored by Sean’s percussive fingerstyle virtuosity! See you there!

Acoustic Jam Circle at the Spencer Creek Market on June 23rd

Join us on June 23rd when René & Bob — from Wandering Thyme — will host an acoustic jam/song circle beginning at 11:30 a.m. All instruments, all levels are welcome!! Enjoy an all-local lunch at our outdoor cafe and shop for fresh veggies, honey, chicken & duck & goose & quail eggs, sample the marvelous offerings of our Food Artisans and check out the fine pottery, fiber arts, jewelry and body care products offered by K.B. Townsend Studio and Sacred Kitchen Alchemy. Our professional knife sharpener is back in town so if you want a superfine edge on our favorite knife or cleaver, drop that into your shopping bag before you head on out! This coming Saturday, June 2nd, we have three scheduled music performances. We’ll open with local singer/songwriter guitarist Delina Rose at 10:30. Delina will be followed at 11:45 by Bluegene, Rick Leighton’s unique mix of Jazz and Folk/Rock compositions. At 1 o’clock you’ll want to catch the performance by Fresh Ham, Eugene’s acclaimed Jazz Trio!
We’ll also have a plethora of Produce and Craft vendors along with our marvelous Food Artisans! Genie will have her amazing outdoor locavore cafe all set up and dishing out fresh grains & greens along with an array of toppings! Come on out, do a bit of shopping, grab a plate of food, then sit and enjoy the music!

May 26th Opening Day

The Spencer Creek Growers’ Market opens the 2016 season on May 26th with lots of fresh greens and other early season produce along with plenty of plant starts, a wide array of crafts, fresh-baked sourdough bread, fabulous cookies, vegan and paleo muffins, cakes, tarts & savories and delicious fresh food and fresh roasted coffee from our very own Café la Grange.

Opening Day performers include the Garden Variety Trio, The Ridgeline Ukulele Extravaganza and Chico Schwall. Details of these performances can be found on our 2018 Music Calendar.

The market can be found behind the Spencer Creek Grange, which is located on the corner of Lorane Highway and McBeth Road, just outside Eugene. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Harvest Fair 2017

This coming Saturday, October 7th, the Spencer Creek Growers Market will hold its 8th Annual Harvest Fair. We’ll have an all-day cider pressing — bring up to 3 bushels of apples (roughly 6 five gallon buckets) and either bring your own juice containers or purchase them at the market. We’ll be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m during which we’ll have five live music performances. Our outdoor Cafe la Grange restaurant will feature salmon chowder, vegan autumn vegetable soup, bread rolls, gluten-free corn bread, fresh green salad, honey walnut pie and apple/plum pie with whipped cream. We’ll also have a corn-holing competition for all ages. Enjoy an old-fashioned country market where you’ll find plenty of fresh veggies along with crafters, food artisans, miniature dairy goat kids and a delicious all-local lunch with plenty of outdoor seating!

September 30th

On the last Saturday before our End-of-Season Harvest Fair we’ll again have 3 terrific music performances. Delina Rose, an amazing singer/songwriter (you can hear some of her recordings on Soundcloud) kicks off the market with a performance at 10:30, followed by the inventive and virtuosic Danny Estrada at 11:45. At one o’clock we’ll be welcoming back Meg Graf, accordionist and pianist from Calamity Jazz, who’ll be drawing from a wide repertoire as she performs on the keyboard for all us marketeers — customers and vendors alike. Satisfy your fresh summer veggie shopping list for the week and then relax and enjoy an unbeatable all-local lunch and great music!!

September 23rd

With the weatherman promising a fabulous Fall day, we’ll have another full crew of produce and craft vendors together with Jen’s terrific baked items and Randy’s offerings from Camas Country Mill. Genie will be set up in the outdoor Cafe with her buffet style “Market Bowl” featuring local grains along with fresh salad greens and terrific toppings. We’ve got a full slate of music with Lonesome Randall appearing at 10:30, The Blue Notes at 11:45 and Red Pajamas Duo at 1 o’clock.

Rainwalkers

September 16th

With just 4 market days remaining in the season, Joy & Martin have managed to pull together a packed music schedule with really great performers. This coming Saturday, September 16th, we’ll have Rainwalkers curing your summertime blues followed by Morgan Fichter playing assorted Appalachian tunes on the fiddle in his first market appearance. We’ll close the afternoon with the return of the highly acclaimed jazz trio Fresh Ham. So be sure and add the Spencer Creek Growers’ Market to your Saturday schedule and satisfy all your fresh summer veggie needs for the week while sitting back and enjoying a great all-local lunch and terrific music!!

Chico Schwall

September 9th

On the 9th of September we’ll have music throughout the day beginning in the morning with the Adams Apples & Ribs Marimba Ensemble, a talented and energetic gathering of 6th and 7th graders from Adams Elementary School. Following the marimba performance we’ll have guitarist Archie Slim perform in his second appearance at the market. Between 1 and 2 o’clock you can catch a performance by singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chico Schwall, who teaches at the Shedd Institute for the Arts and also appeared at our market last September with the Low Tide Drifters.

Oregon fires, summer 2017

We held the market in the downstairs dining area on September 2nd due to temperatures in the mid 90’s and persistent smoke in the air from more than 20 wildfires burning throughout Oregon.
